Anita Nador is a partner in INQ Law. She is a lawyer and registered patent agent in Canada and the United States, and a registered trademark agent in Canada. Prior to joining INQ Law, Anita was the founding global co-lead of the WIPR global ranked Trade Secret Group of a leading international law firm.  She was also on the executive of their life sciences group.  Anita services a range of clients - from startups and academic institutions to some of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies.

 

Recognized as a leader in her field by the world's top legal and IP rankings organizations, including IAM Strategy 300: The World's Leading IP Strategists, Anita focuses her practice on intellectual property (IP), regulatory and commercialization planning, primarily in the life sciences and chemical sectors. She was also the recipient of a 2016 Client Choice Award.

 

In addition to drafting, prosecuting and managing global IP portfolios, Anita is particularly distinguished for her ability to pair her technological expertise and sophisticated IP experience with her experience in corporate, transactional, and regulatory law –to assist clients' in realizing their commercial interests. Her practice encompasses all aspects of these areas, including negotiating and drafting various agreements and serving as an advisor and acting in-house counsel roles for institutional, corporate and investment entities and sitting on client internal committees such as MRC and PRC, developing SOPs and best practices and in-house training. Anita also assists clients with related agreements, such as asset purchase, license, development, manufacturing & supply, clinical trial, consulting, and master services agreements and has advised and conducted due diligence on many commercial transactions and financings.

 

A former researcher at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston and Allelix Biopharmaceuticals in Mississauga, Anita grounds her advice in first-hand knowledge of the day-to-day commercial and scientific realities that shape her clients' businesses and objectives. To quote her clients, she is described as a “trustworthy and extremely knowledgeable adviser” and is routinely praised for her “outstanding” and “business – oriented and practical” advise.

Anita regularly speaks, teaches and writes on topics related to intellectual property, regulatory compliance and technology transfer issues and was an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto's Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation for many years. Outside of law, Anita is very passionate about promoting and mentoring youth in underserviced communities through education and sport.
